Dr. Trina Stewart graduated from Acadia University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology. She went on to medical school at Memorial University of Newfoundland and received a Bachelor of Medical Science in 1996 and an MD in 1998. She completed a Family Medicine residency at Dalhousie University and became a certificant of the Canadian College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) in 2000.

Her first practice was in Kentville, NS.  From there she moved on to her current practice in Summerside, PEI.  Dr. Stewart has a full-scope private family practice. She has active staff privileges at Prince County Hospital in Summerside. She cares for inpatients, assists in the operating room, performs minor surgical procedures, is house doctor for a number of elderly patients at a local community care facility/manor, and coordinates continuing education for the local medical community. She actively supervises and teaches medical students from many Canadian medical schools. She is also active in the CFPC and participates in the certification examinations for the CFPC.   She is a faculty member of the Dalhousie University Medical School.  She is the curriculum coordinator for the PEI family medicine program.
   
Dr. Stewart was trained in the use of BOTOX Cosmetic® and dermal fillers at the Physician Training Centre in Vancouver, BC in 2005. She regularly participates in aesthetic-related continuing medical education and recently went on to train in non-surgical face lifts with the use of HA fillers in 2007.  She is always eager to incorporate new products and techniques into her practice.
